Passing of Department Chief of Staff Donna Hildebrandt

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Hildebrandt, who served as the Chief of Staff for the Department of New York and was a four-time National Award-Winning Newsletter editor. Donna has been a valued Associate Member of the Marine Corps League Bett-Toomey Detachment #216 since October 2020. Here are some key points to remember about Donna’s remarkable service to the Marine Corps League:

  • Donna held the position of Chief of Staff for two Department of New York Commandants.
  • She was recognized as a four-time National Award-Winning Editor for the Department of New York newsletter, the Ground Pounder, and as well as an award winning editor for her local detachment’s newsletter.
  • Donna received her most recent award just two weeks ago at the National Convention in Palm Springs, CA, for 1st Place for Department sized newsletter.
  • Her dedication to the newsletter in 2022 earned her the prestigious title of the very first Department of New York Associate Member of the Year (AMOY).
